Merino sheep have been bred to have more skin folds to increase wool yield. However, as a result, the animals also developed folds on the sides of their buttocks, in which maggots nestled and ate the animals. This is why mulesing was started, where this fold of skin on the buttocks of small lambs is cut away. However, this is a bloody process that is often carried out without anesthesia. On many farms, these folds of skin have therefore already been bred back so that nothing has to be cut away from the animals. The result of this process is mulesing-free wool, which we purchase for our entire production.

From the very beginning, we have only produced fairly in Europe because the employees here have important rights and environmental protection must also be complied with. This allows us to ensure that we have neither child labor nor forced labor and that workers are paid above the minimum wage. In addition, there are other important rights such as occupational health and safety, training, the right to part-time work and meetings, normal working hours, etc.

Ecological production and the recycling of waste, utilization of waste water and the use of sustainable energy are also very important and are adhered to.

Our parcel services are already saving CO2 through route optimization, electronic parcel announcements and increased delivery by natural gas/electric cars and are measuring the values. What is still emitted is offset by renewable energy projects and planting new trees.
